1970 - 1971 NOS (Salesman's Samples) Vanguard 303

The Vanguard 303 shown here is from 1970, and was part of a salesman's sample chest. It is NOS in all respects although this piece does not have a movement fitted, instead the hands and dial are mounted in a cork base. While a movement could easily be fitted, it is worth preserving this fascinating slice of history as is.
 
The Vanguard range was intended to be a cheaper alternative to the expensive Stingray and Mustang ranges and the mid priced anfibios.
